What does this mean for my Prescription?
Single Vision
- Single Vision Distance prescriptions are utilized to correct vision in VR. Do not use contact lens prescriptions
- providing a contact lens prescription may delay your order past our advertised promise times
Bifocal, progressive Add power
- Bifocal, Progressive and Reading prescriptions will be adjusted to single vision lenses for 4-6 ft or specific to the headset.
- Bifocal, Trifocal and Progressive lens prescriptions all have Near power
written as "ADD" "N.V" or "Near". The data usually shows plus power in a
range from +.75 to +3.00 - Reading glasses that are meant for tablets, books and near distances are not to be used in VR distances. The screen may be close to your eyes, but the projected image is further than a computer screen. If you only wear readers/cheaters, Select single vision with ADD power. Enter 0.00 for sphere, Cyl and Axis and enter your reading power in the ADD section. So if you use +2.00 cheaters/readers enter SPH: 0.00 CYL 0.00 AXIS 0 or 180 ADD:2.00
What do i ask from my eye doctor?
Keep it simple, let us do the work
- Reloptix requests you do not ask your eye doctor for a specific adjusted distance in the exam chair.
- Upload your normal distance prescription or regular progressive power with the highest add power.
- a computer progressive RX might show a lower ADD power ex. +1.25 vs the normal progressive power which might be +2.50. Provide us the +2.50 script.
- Sometimes you might prefer single vision prescriptions but have add power, this might give you 2 single vision prescriptions. Make sure to upload a photo of both prescriptions so we can do the math.
I am uncertain what this means on my prescription
What does this mean?
- PL or PLANO in the sphere section of your prescription means you enter "0" in that section
- If your prescription has letters in your Cylinder section such as "D.S"
then you only need to fill out SPH (Sphere). This means you do not have
Cyl / Astigmatism - a power that does not show a + or - is always a + power prescription. (Ex. 3.00 is the same as +3.00
- minus power always has a - in front of the number. (EX. -7.00)
PRISM △
- Prism on a prescription could show a triangle to describe prism instead
of text saying "Prism" . - When you have 1 D, this means 1 down, 1 U means 1 UP, 1 i means 1 IN, 1 O means 1 Out. Adding a 1BO means the same thing 1 Base Out = 1 Out
- Prism could also show as numbers instead of a direction such as 180 or 90. Its always best to screen shot your prescription and upload for accuracy.
- If you do not have numbers under prism or ADD
power then you do not need to worry about Prism or ADD (skip that
section)

Do you need your PD?
80% of the time you may omit your PD, prompting Reloptix to use the standard sweet spot for lens placement. Headsets typically offer manual lens adjustment, allowing for a personalized, comfortable fit.
The primary reason for requiring your PD is to address notable variations between each eye. For example, if your right eye measures 36 mm from the bridge of your nose and your left eye measures 30 mm, adjustments are necessary for lens installation. This may have been explained to you during your eye exam.
For VR purposes with Aspheric single vision lenses, slight variations such as 33mm in the right eye and 35mm in the left are insignificant. Reloptix determines that anything less than 4mm difference per eye results in no noticeable visual change in VR.
